She smiled sadly and her heart died a little more inside as she slid down the wall listening to the beautiful melancholic aria. The longer she listen to it the more the razor pain bleed in her heart. The owner of the voice used to be hers. Used to. Her lips trembled and pearls of tears rolled down her cheek as she reminiscences the past. The laughter, the tears, the warmth and the coldness of their relationship. She couldn't take it anymore. The young lady debated on turning around and leaving. She had to face it. The pain in her heart is unbearable. She walk towards the studio with uncertain steps. She wiped her tears away with the heel of her palm and placed her hand of the door knob. She then took a deep breath to calm her inner turmoil and opened the door.
She locked the door behind her and looked at him. The waterfall of notes trailed off and she found herself staring down into the pained and vulnerable eyes of her lover. He sat on the lone couch next to the walls of mirrors in the studio, a knee pulled up and the other stretched in front of him. "Why are you still here? It's late." her soft voice questioned. Silence answered her question and her eyes flashed. Fury. It was there one second, gone the next. Her eyes softened as she sat next to him. "Why are you doing this to me? All I want is someone to love and care about me. Why can't you do it? I've stood by you all along. For three years. I've gave everything to you. Why? Why are you so cruel?" her voice cracked at the last sentence.
Then she heard it. "I'm so sorry. I'm not good enough. Never good enough." He whispered, anguish in his voice over and over again. She leaned against him and hugged him tightly in her arms. "I miss the old you. The caring and sweet you. That's all I ask of you." she whispered against his neck. He soon broke down into a sobbing mess in her arms. After he had calmed down, she wiped his tears with the sleeves of her cardigan. They sat in the silence, pain filled silence. "I'm sorry. I love you baby, I really do. But I can't do this no more", his voice cutting the tension filled silence. She nodded and turned to face him. Eyes filled with pain and misery. "I understand." her voice trembled and her lips quivered.
She slowly leaned towards him and their lips met in a short, sweet kiss.  "I guess this is it. I'll always love you. Bye." she whispered against his lips. She then stood up and walked away from him, towards the door. She stopped after a few steps hoping that he will ask her to stay. Few moments later, she resumed her steps to the door. Goodbye, baby. Goodbye.
